In 1971, Arnault joined his dad's development organization, Ferret-Savinel, where he filled in as a specialist. But Arnault knew he wanted to do more, and he wasn't happy with his role in the family business.

In 1978, Arnault left Ferret-Savinel and went to work for a land improvement organization, named Roussel-Uclaf, where he filled in as the overseer of money. Arnault started learning about finance and growing as a businessman in this setting.

Arnault made a daring move in 1984 when he bought a struggling textile company called Boussac, which was owned by Christian Dior, a prestigious fashion house. Arnault's investment in the business came at a time when it was in danger of going bankrupt.

Arnault, on the other hand, recognized the company's potential and believed he could turn it around. He started concentrating on the luxury goods division of the company, which included the Christian Dior brand. He increased sales by hiring talented designers and investing in marketing and advertising.
